A SELF-EMPLOYED plumber who got behind the wheel after two vodkas at home has paid the price with a 12-month driving ban.
Pennine magistrates were told how Stephen Little, 29 decided to pop out to a garage after the drinks, which “weren’t pub measures”.
Little, the sole wage earner for his family and a new dad, didn’t think he would be breaking the law.
Philip Turner, defending, told the hearing: “He says it never crossed his mind for one moment that what he had consumed would put him over the legal limit.”
The defendant, of The Oval, Burnley, admitted driving with excess alcohol on Rossendale Road, Burnley, on October 18.
He was fined £380, with £85 costs.
