HUNDREDS of people descended on Towneley Hall to make sure this year’s Bonfire Night celebrations went with a big bang.
Alongside the bonfire and fireworks display, there was also a funfair and catering added to the annual mix of entertainment and things to do on the night.

The funfair opened at 6.30pm and provided fun rides for all ages.
The junior fireworks started at 7.30pm with the main firework display blasting off at 8.30pm.
The event was organised by Burnley Council alongside Pryo 2000, a company which has previous organised major festivals abroad and in the UK including the Edinburgh Tattoo.
Coun Mark Townsend, leader of Burnley Council, said: “I think it was an excellent event and really good for the community.
“It brought everybody together and everybody seemed to be really enjoying themselves.
“Holding an event like this is a boost for Burnley and for the area as a whole.
“It’s very important to hold a Bonfire Night celebration every year.”
