A LONGRIDGE pre-school has had its rating boosted by Ofsted following an inspection.
A team of inspectors visited the pre-school in October and concluded that it should be graded as ‘good’.
The Chapel Street pre-school, which is based at Christ Church Hall, was previously rated as requiring improvement after its last inspection in 2011.
In the report published at the start of the month, lead inspector Jacqueline Midgley said: “The educational programmes provide a broad range of experiences that help children make good progress towards the early learning goals.
“Good monitoring by managers ensures that planning and assessment are consistent and precise, to ensure appropriate interventions are sought for children to make good progress across all areas of their learning.
“Practitioners effectively support children's understanding of how to keep themselves safe. “ However, Mrs Midgley said that it could not yet be rated as ‘outstanding’ because of issues including that the organisation of the displays of children’s work ‘is not always fully accessible’.
