The team at Evans Halshaw in Blackburn had a hand in raising over £16,500 in a single day for cancer charity, Hope for Tomorrow.

Dealerships within the Pendragon Group, including Stratstone and Evans Halshaw, joined forces to take part in a UK-wide charity challenge day.

The money raised will go towards helping the charity provide mobile chemotherapy units to the NHS, which alleviates some of the stresses and strains associated with receiving treatment for cancer.

Team members at the dealership sites in Blackburn, Burnley, Blackpool, Preston and Chorley pulled out all the stops to ensure the fundraising target was met, with fun-fuelled events including forecourt car washes, delicious bake sales, biking races, the odd ice bucket challenge and slapping cream pies in each other’s faces.

Emma Pochin, dealership events and marketing lead for Evans Halshaw, said: “All the team at Evans Halshaw loved taking part in the Charity Challenge Day and we’re delighted we played our part in raising such a significant amount of money for the cause.”

2014 marks the third year the car retailer has been working with Hope for Tomorrow, with the aim of funding a whole mobile chemotherapy unit for the charity.
