AN alleged case of bigamy involving a Burnley woman has been adjourned at the request of the Crown Prosecution Service.
Emma Louise Evans, 33, of Hufling Lane, is alleged to have taken part in a sham marriage at Blackburn to Kazeem Kolade in July 2012. And she has been charged with taking part in a bigamous marriage to Stephen Akinseye in January 2013.
Prosecutor Barbara Webster, at Burnley Crown Court, said checks would need to be carried out with the Nigerian High Commission regarding a purported divorce document in connection with the case. She did not enter pleas and was bailed until April 27 for trial.
