EAST Lancashire MP Andrew Stephenson has backed Home Secretary Theresa May’s new strategy to tackle the rising threats of extremism.
Mrs May told the party conference a Conservative government would introduce Banning Orders for radical groups, and Extremist Disruption Orders to tackle those who spread hate short of breaking the law.
Pendle Tory Mr Stephenson said: “The recent attack on the Canadian Parliament was a reminder of the dangers of terrorism and the need to tackle extremism at source.
“The new strategy will improve the way we tackle extremism. This is essential to ensuring communities are safe.”
