AN open afternoon for potential student teachers is to be held at an outstanding Haslingden school.
People interested in teaching at a primary or special school are being invited to attend the event at Tor View Community Special School on Monday, November 17.
Peter Sweetmore, chairman of governors at the national teaching school, said: “East Lancashire Inclusion Partnership, an alliance of Lancashire mainstream primary and special schools led by Tor View Teaching School, is offering School Direct places for the academic year of 2015 – 2016.
“The schools are working in partnership with the University of Cumbria to deliver a PGCE with significantly more school-based opportunities and specialist training courses.
“To find out more about our School Direct programme and speak to current School Direct student teachers, attend our information event.”
The open day will be held at the school in Clod Lane from 2.15pm to 5.45pm.
To book a place, call Lyndsay Hayhurst on 01706 214640, or email teachingschool@torview.lancs.sch.uk
