ROSSENDALE and Darwen MP Jake Berry will be growing a ‘Movember’ moustache to raise awareness and cash for men’s health issues.
For the second year, Jake will be ditching his razor in support of the month-long event, raising money for the Prostate Cancer Charity.
Last year, the Tory MP raised £2089 for the cause, with a donation of £500 from Darwen engineering firm WEC.
The idea is taking off and more people look set to get involved this year than on other occasions.
Mr Berry said: “Movember has helped change the way we see men’s health.
“I’m really proud to be part of it again this year, despite last year attracting some attention and being likened to Magnum PI for a month!
“I was overwhelmed by the generosity of so many people who helped me raise more than £2000 last year.
“I hope that my constituents will forgive me for looking a bit daft over the next few weeks as I attempt to do my bit for such an important cause.”
