A COMMUNITY activist from Blackburn is helping out the elderly and disabled this weekend by putting their clocks back for them.
Every year Faz Patel, who lives in Shear Brow with his wife and young son, visits the homes of neighbours who need a helping hand to adjust their clocks.
And this year he is extending his invitation to the wider community.
Faz, 36, will be spending a few hours on Saturday turning clocks back.
Anybody who lives in Blackburn and will have issues changing their clocks themselves will be able to contact him and ask him to help out.
He said: “I’m happy to do it for anyone who’s elderly, disabled, or vulnerable. I understand that many people do struggle to change their clocks, they’ll suffer anxiety and stress because of it.
“I’m happy to go round as a volunteer, for anyone who has mobility issues, just to change their clocks for them.”
Last year Faz visited 10 houses to help people out.
He also acknowledged that for many people, his visit could provide some welcome company.
He said: “I do it for people I know every year in the local community.
“For me it might just take a couple of minutes, but for an elderly person they would have to worry about ringing someone to do it for them.
“I’ll be happy to change their clocks, and I know it’s nothing really, but it means a lot to a lot of people.
“They do really appreciate it, and for people who live alone, they get to have a chit chat.”
