A MOTORCYCLIST suffered serious injuries when he came off his bike following a collision.
The incident, which happened in Blackburn Old Road, Hoghton, shortly after 10.35pm on Saturday, resulted in the Yamaha R6 driver, 29, sustaining injuries to his lower left leg, a broken foot and a lacerated liver.
It is thought that after coming off his bike, he travelled some distance along the pavement.
The road was closed for four hours following the incident.
Sergeant Young, of the road policing team, said: “We are appealing for anyone who may have seen the motorbike in the area prior to the incident or who may have witnessed what happened to get in touch and help us with our enquiries.”
