THE Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team is urging people to vote for the charity to help it win £10,000.
The organisation, which is based in Clegg Street, Haslingden, is in the running for the cash from the Yorkshire Building Society Group, which is proving the money from its lasting legacy fund.
In total, 15 charities will each receive £10,000 to fund a specific project.
The mountain rescue team will use the money, if delivered, to upgrade its medical treatment equipment, including splints, medical bags, stretchers and medicine to help with searches, rescues and the immediate treatment of those who need the organisation’s help.
The team of volunteers is often called into action to look for missing or injured people and animals in rural, suburban and urban locations.
