STATUS Quo will be ‘rockin’ all over’ the surroundings of Hoghton Tower next year in aid of St Catherine’s Hospice.

The band will take to the stage on Friday July 3, following in the footsteps of the likes of James Blunt and Katherine Jenkins who wowed crowds this year.

Quo, who have sold more than 118 million records worldwide including classics like ‘Rockin’ All Over The World’ and ‘Whatever you Want’, will headline the first of the two-night music event.

The Symphony at the Tower will also mark St Catherine’s Hospice’s 30th anniversary and will also feature classical vocal group Blake the following night.

Francis Rossi, front-man of Status Quo, said he and the band were excited to be performing at Symphony at the Tower.

He said: “What better way to spend a summer's evening than against the backdrop of Hoghton Tower in Lancashire.

“We're even more pleased that the show will be part of St Catherine's Hospice's anniversary celebrations, as they've been providing hospice care to the people of Preston for 30 years.”

Lorraine Charlesworth, director of income generation at St Catherine's Hospice, said they were thrilled to be welcoming such high profile artists to the 20th Symphony at the Tower.

She said: “We know it is going to be a weekend of incredible music and fantastic performances.

“The atmosphere at the symphony is always wonderful, and we know this year it will be extra special as we celebrate the 30th birthday of the hospice in style.
