BUS bosses have announced that a trial cut-price travel deal – for evening passengers in East Lancashire – is set to continue.
Public transport operators Transdev launched their one-pound ticket offer in mid-August for their Lancashire United and Lancashire Way routes.

And now after seeing passenger numbers significantly increase, the company has confirmed that their ‘saver’ fares scheme will continue.
John Threlfall, Transdev’s operations director, said: “We’re delighted with the results of our evening fares trial which has seen more people choosing to travel by bus after 7pm.
“There is clearly a demand for competitively priced travel at this time of day, when people are going to and from work or college, visiting friends and family, or getting home from a night out.”
Under their new system, single journeys were £1, while £2 tickets were available for slightly longer outings, and it cost £3 to get to Prestwich or Manchester on the X41.
The combined offer extends to local services around Blackburn, the 24 bus to Chorley, the Ribble Valley Express 180, 280 and X80 routes, which link Preston, Clitheroe and Skipton.
Fares also cover the 152 service, which runs from Preston to Blackburn and on to Burnley, through Rishton, Clayton-le-Moors, Altham and Padiham.
The Blackburn fares are £1 and the £2 ticket applies to those wanting to Burnley, Bolton, Clitheroe, Haslingden and Preston Mr Threlfall said that the offer was ‘bucking the trend’ when other bus operators and train companies were imposing increased ticket prices.
Passengers are being reminded that tickets at the evening fares rate are currently not available to buy via the Lancashire Bus app, and can only be purchased on board buses.
