EAST Lancashire is expected to be battered by the remnants of Hurricane Gonzalo over the next two days.
A weather warning has been issued by the Met Office and motorists have been warned to take extra care as gale force winds arrive from across the Atlantic.

Gusts exceeding 55mph are expected to cause havoc across the country, although it should clear up by the end of the day.
A Met Office spokesman said: “The strongest winds are expected today as the low pressure clears eastwards. Some uncertainty remains in peak windspeeds, but there remains the potential for disruption to travel, especially as the strongest winds coincide with the morning rush hour.
“Fallen leaves impeding drainage increases the risk of surface water affecting roads, while some damage to trees is possible, given that so many are still in full leaf.”
