TEN fire crews have been called to Accrington town centre this afternoon after reports of a possible chemical leak in a town centre estate agent.

Firefighters are still investigating what has caused the leak after office workers reported a haze and strange smell in Duckworth Estate Agents in St James Street.

A specialist unit from Manchester has been called in to investigate the substance that was first reported around 3.39om.

Two officers workers and two firefighters are currently being checked by paramedics.

But ambulance crews said it was 'too soon' to say how the are.

A large area in the town centre has been cordoned off by police and is expected to be closed for some time.
