HORROR enthusiasts across East Lancashire are set for a scare this Hallowe’en.
A controversial scream park will return to the Ribble Valley for its sixth year, promising a scarier-than-ever experience.

The Hallowe’en horror event at Hawkshaw Farm Park, Clayton-le-Dale, opens on Wednesday, October 22, boasting ‘a fear-filled slate of attractions for fearless families, thrill-seeking adrenaline junkies and courageous kids.’ Last year organisers of the ‘Scare Kingdom Scream Park’ off the A59 had to defend its special over-18s section called ‘Psycho-manteum’, where visitors were velcro-strapped to a bed and had a sex toy waved in their face.
The Farm of Terror is also set to return to Bacup from Friday, October 24, until Sunday, November 2.
The live experience horror event is hosted by Huttock Top Farm in Newchurch Old Road and will feature gruesome monsters and frights inside the spooky farm house.
For those who maybe aren’t so keen on being too scared, Moorhouse Brewery will host a Hallowe’en fancy dress party from 7.30pm on the night itself.
There will be prizes for the best fancy dress and the best decorated pumpkin.
A Kids Monster Ball will also be staged at Oswaldtwistle Mills from noon to 2pm on Friday, October 31.
It will include a ‘monster disco’, a scariest outfit competition and Hallowe’en glitter tattoos.
Samlesbury Hall will play host to a family spooky walk through the ghostly hall.
Visitors will be invited to follow the candles and pumpkins for the interactive walk through and quiz then finish off with supper on Hallowe’en night.
Burnley Mechanics will present a Hallowe’en Ball from 7.30pm on the night which will include a fancy dress contest and a five course dinner.
Dr Mad's Masquerade Curious Hallowe’en Ball will be staged at the St John’s Centre in Blackburn on the same night. DJ Wolfie and Razzmatazz will provide the entertainment from 8pm.
