A HOSPITAL worker has raised almost £400 for charity after shaving her hair off.
Michelle Oliver, who works at Royal Blackburn Hospital, said she wanted to raise valuable funds for the nurses at Macmillan Cancer Support.
She said: “I am no stranger to changing my hair cut or colour. This year, after keeping my hair long to be chief bridesmaid for my bestie’s wedding, I decided it’s time for the chop. Will my hair be grown back in time for the annual Christmas do? I very much doubt it, but it will be worth it to raise a bit of cash for a great charity.”
After enjoying a plethora of curries, samosas and cakes with her colleagues, Michelle had her locks removed. She said: “I am really starting to love the look. I have plenty of hats. But nothing could have prepared me for feeling like I had been thrown into the middle of winter, it is so cold.”
