X FACTOR star Reece Bibby has thanked his fans for voting to keep him in the hit ITV competition.

The 16-year-old’s band are busy rehearsing this weekend’s song after surviving Sunday’s double elimination.

And the Accrington singer made sure he voiced his appreciation on micro-blogging site Twitter. He told his 50,000 followers: “What a night! Thank you to everyone who voted.”

Stereo Kicks, who finally revealed their name at the weekend, performed a cover of Katy Perry’s number one hit, Roar. Reece’s proud dad, Jamie, who travelled to London to see Reece perform, said: “It was the best result we could have hoped for. We were very nervous.”

The group has picked up its fair share of celebrity followers too. Comedian and actor David Walliams joked on Twitter: “I liked Stereo Kicks on @TheXFactor but I worry there just aren’t enough members.”

And rap duo Rizzle Kicks also had a humorous dig at the band on Twitter. They tweeted: “Hey @xf8boyband! Really loving you on Fame Academy’s Got Talent Factor. Of course your name’s ridiculous so I’ve thought up some others.

“Have you tried Eastlife, Smoking Squad, Girl Area, Front Road Boys, R Club Eight? Hold on... The Octo Posse.”
