EAST Lancashire’s water supplier has said that there are no plans to introduce a hosepipe ban despite the recent hot weather.
Temperatures have soared across the region over the last few weeks, with the mercury rising to 26°C at its peak so far.
United Utilities has also said that it is happy with the reservoir levels in the area and that there are no plans to introduce consumption restrictions.
A spokesman said: “We’ve had some lovely summer weather and reservoir levels are about where we’d expect for the time of year.
“We plan carefully for the summer and have robust plans in place to manage demand. We’re not considering a hosepipe ban for East Lancashire.
“Our customers can continue to enjoy a glass of water or a cool shower to help them through this warm weather.
“And we always promote water efficiency, so let’s not forget ‘saving water can help save money’, which is good news for everyone.”
