GARDENERS at Towneley Hall have spent two weeks creating a floral design bearing the East Lancashire Regiment’s badge.
The display is part of the Burnley stately home’s commemorations for the centenary of the First World War which will culminate with an evening to mark the year on August 4.
The colourful crest has been placed at the side of the hall, overlooking the flower gardens, and was chosen because many that fought in the regiment were from the borough.
