ARMED police were drafted in after reports of a firearms incident on a terraced street in Burnley earlier this evening.
Police were alerted to a flare-up at a property in Howsin Street, Duke Bar, at around 6pm.
Nearby Cameron Street was also sealed off as a team of officers moved in to arrest two men in their early 20s.
The Lancashire Constabulary helicopter was also drafted in to monitor the situation but the men have now been escorted from the scene.
Insp Phil Hutchinson, of Burnley Police, said that the street had now returned to normal and the two men in custody were currently assisting police with their enquiries.
