AROUND 100 bread muffins have been dumped on the side of a quiet road in Haslingden.
Rossendale Council’s environmental enforcement team is investigating the fly tipping incident, which happened in Greens Lane.
The incident on the lane, close to the Rossendale Golf Course, was reported to the council by a local resident on Monday.
The muffins were contained in clear plastic bags with no markings to indicate where they had come from.
Coun Alyson Barnes, leader of Rossendale Council, said: “Fly tipping costs the council thousands of pounds to investigate and remove every year, and it blights our beautiful local environment.”
Anybody with information is asked to call the council on 01706 217777.
