A WOMAN who glassed a rival after finding her half-naked partner had barricaded himself inside their home with her was spared jail.
Lauren Birkett, 20, returned from Burnley Wood Social Club in the early hours to find she couldn't get in as a dryer was pushed up against the door.
She got in round the back and found her boyfriend, Jamie Lowrie, without his shirt on, sitting on the settee with a woman named Natalie Mason.
Burnley Crown Court was told a row erupted. Ms Mason appeared to go to push Birkett and the defendant was holding a glass. She ‘made contact with the victim's face’, smashing the glass.
The defendant, of Russell Court, Burnley, who has never been in trouble before, admitted wounding, last July 7. She received eight months in custody, suspended for a year. The victim had been left with a 1.5 centimetre scar.
Robert Elias, defending, said Birkett was now pregnant. He added:”She has forgiven him."
