A DRIVER was taken to hospital with a suspected heart problem after his car hit a wall in Great Harwood.
The emergency services were called to the scene near The Game Cock Inn, Whalley Road, shortly after 9am yesterday.
Passers-by called the ambulance service after failing to wake the man, believed to be in his 50s.
He was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital by paramedics after being cut out of the car by the fire service.
He had been driving a Ford Focus and no-one else was involved.
The man was considered to be out of danger shortly after arriving at hospital and was sitting up in bed.
The road was closed for several hours.
