ANNA Brooks, a three-year-old with leukaemia from Bacup, has returned to Blossoms Private Day Nursery after going into remission.
The youngster has been receiving intensive treatment at Manchester Children’s Hospital for the past six months, but has now been released and will receive a low dose of daily chemotherapy.
Sara Steel, who is part of Team Anna, who have raised more than £5,000 for the toddler and her family’s support during her illness, said: “Her family were delighted to get the news that she is now in remission.
“Anna returned to nursery recently. She has settled in really well and is enjoying being back with her friends, who she has missed over the last six months of hospital visits.”
Anna finished her intensive treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) just after her third birthday in January.
Maintenance treatment will continue for another 18 months before the family will learn whether the treatment has been successful.
