PLANS to take control of a wooded area in Colne have been placed in question after a meeting.
Land at Turney Crook Mews, off Windy Bank, is privately owned but Pendle Council has been considering turning it into a public open space.
In a report to Colne area committee, it was stated: “It was felt at this meeting that the site was very large, problematic and had access issues, and that the funding needed to improve the site for public use would be too much.”
Another meeting has been scheduled for later this month to make a final decision on the possible transfer.
