PLANS have been unveiled for a health and fitness club as part of a major new leisure development in Burnley.
The Xercise4Less gym would take up the ground floor and part of the north wing, on the first floor of Kingsway House, according to proposals lodged with the borough council.
Applicant Jon Wright has included a new staircase and platform lift for access to the first floor and there will be a women’s-only gym incorporated into the overall development.
Proposals have already been approved for a 126-bedroom student village backed by East Lancashire Regeneration Ltd.
Previously the exercise chain Puregym had been attached to the development. Shops and offices were also included in the blueprints.
Further outline bids to build accommodation blocks at either end of Kingsway House were also given the green light in late 2012.
