A TEAM of almost 70 police officers will take part in a charity run in memory of two colleagues.
They will be taking part in the Run to Remember Challenge, set up after WPCs Nicola Hughes and Fiona Bone were murdered by one-eyed Dale Creegan in 2012.
The 67 officers will set off from the police headquarters in Hutton on Sunday and will run two miles.
All funds raised will be split between charities Victim Support, Care of Police Survivors and the North West Police Benevolent Fund.
PC Eddie Baldwin said: “It demonstrates the comradeship of police officers that 67 officers from across the county have come together to remember PCs Hughes and Bone in this way and raise money in their memory.”
The Run To Remember Challenge was set by PC Nicola Hughes’ father, Bryn Hughes, to aid the PC Nicola Hughes Memorial Fund, which he hopes will establish a lasting legacy to Nicola.
