DOZENS of floral tributes have been left in memory of baby Ava-Jayne Corless in the street in which she was killed by a dog.
The 11-month-old baby was mauled to death while she visited Lee Wright in Emily Street with her mum Chloe King.
Flowers and teddybears were placed at the entrance to the road by those wishing to pay their respects.
Bouquets were also left at the door of Wright’s house.
Neighbour Ian Prescott said the whole area had been left shaken by Ava’s death.
The 65-year-old retired cleaner said: “It is very sad.
“This is the first incident to happen on our doorstep so it really brings it home “Ava-Jayne’s death has shocked everybody.
“Everybody is just thinking about that little girl.
“I feel sorry for the mother and the rest of her family.
“I am not an emotional person, but it got to me. She was 11-months old and had all her life in front of her.
“It really is tragic.”
Mourners also took to the Lancashire Telegraph Facebook page to express their sadness.
Melanie Harkness wrote: “God bless baby girl. Can't even begin to imagine what the family are going through. Thoughts are with you all x.”
Nina Lees posted: “Poor little baby. RIP beautiful girl. Thinking of her and her family at this sad time xx.”
