A LONG-standing governor of a Blackburn school was given a surprise presentation after being awarded an MBE.
Nick Kennedy, has been head of governors at Sacred Heart School for 14 years, was presented with drawings, poems and flowers at an assembly on Friday.
My Kennedy, 70, was also presented with a book containing pictures of MBEs that had been made by the pupils.
The former head of the Primary Care Trust was awarded an MBE in the New Year’s Honours List for services to Blackburn.
He said: “I was tickled pink when I walked into the assembly and found out what they had done.
“It was fantastic and quite a surprise.”
