PLANS to build a wind turbine in the Southfield area of Nelson have been rejected.
Councillors refused the application for a 47-metre- high, 225kw turbine in Back Lane.
It was the second time the application had been submitted; the first was incorrectly listed as being at Shelfield Farm. Coun Tommy Cooney said: “The people at Shelfield Farm didn’t deserve to have people asking them why they had applied for a wind turbine when it was nothing to do with them.
“It was deliberately misleading to the public and councillors.”
