TEACHER Joanne Edwards has raised more than a third of the £10,000 needed to create a second ‘serenity suite’ at Burnley General Hospital.
The existing suite was already being used when Joanne, from Darwen, suffered a mid-term miscarriage in March last year, so the asssistant headteacher at Sacred Heart Primary School, in Colne, launched a fundraising campaign to get a second facility.
More than £3,500 has so far been donated, partly thanks to Joanne taking part in a ‘survival of the fittest’ challenge in November.
