PENDLE MP Andrew Stephenson has teamed up with the Alzheimer’s Society to host a dementia friends workshop in Nelson.
It is a national initiative by the Alzheimer’s Society which recognises that everybody has a role to play in making communities more friendly to people suffering from dementia.
The event will be held at the ACE Centre, in Cross Street, from 10am until 11am. Mr Stephenson said: “After attending an Alzheimer’s Society dementia friends workshop in the House of Commons recently and becoming a dementia friend, I was very keen to arrange for one of these informative sessions to take place in Pendle.
“The session is open to anyone, but I am particularly keen that local organisations and businesses, who may come into contact with those affected by dementia send representatives along.”
To sign up to attend the event, contact Mr Stephenson’s office on 01282 614748.
