PRIMARY school pupils are to pit their maths skills against senior colleagues.
Children from a number of primaries will put their maths skills to the test against Burnley’s Blessed Trinity pupils in the United Kingdom Maths Trust Junior Maths Challenge.
Year six students from Christ the King, St Mary's RC Primary, St Mary Magdalene's, St Joseph's Parkhill and St Joseph's in Todmorden have been attending gifted and talented maths workshops at the Ormerod Road school.
Blessed Trinity’s director of learning Marie Geoghegan said: “On completing the course each child will receive a certificate and a scientific calculator as a reward.
“These pupils will also be invited to Blessed Trinity in May where they will take part in the challenge along with our brightest mathematicians from years seven and eight.”
