A RIBBLE Valley restaurant has taken on some of the best curry houses in England and come out on top.
Longridge restaurant Victoria's India was named Best Indian Restaurant in Northern England for 2007, and listed in the top 100 of the 2007 Cobra Beer Good Curry Guide.
The accolades came at Cobra Beer's The Good Curry Guide' awards at London's Hilton Hotel earlier this month.
Owned by Tony and Carole Walters, the restaurant, just off Berry Lane, has been open for around a year.
Mr Walters, 56, said: "This is amazing for us because we were up against some top restaurants, and low and behold we won the thing. It gives us such a lift for 2007."
