A NEW phones policy is set to be adopted by Lancashire County Council — to make it fairer for mobile users.
Currently a number of general services offered by the county council use ‘0845’ numbers.
But such numbers are not included in the phone plans of many mobile customers and users can find themselves paying hefty charges.
This does not usually apply to ‘0300’ numbers though, which the authority now intend to adopt for services ranging from libraries to welfare rights, their waste helpline, school admissions, highways, accounts and NOW cards.
