A HEADTEACHER has saluted his pupils for "doing yourselves proud" after revealing they produced the best results in the school's history.
Delighted David Whyte was speaking as St Wilfrid's CE High School and Technology College, Blackburn, hosted its annual celebration evening for outgoing GCSE and A-level students.
And Mr Whyte told students and invited guests of the Duckworth Street school the pupils had helped achieve record results.
"Pupils who came to us in 1999 and 2001 have seen the school enjoy the best two years of results its ever had," he told students.
"You have all done us proud. We are delighted for all of you and our A-level students continue to show the commitment to the school by regularly organising events and raising money for charity."
Highlights academically included the school's GCSE pass rate with the number of pupils achieving five or more A* to C grades rocketing from 69 to 79 per cent.
