HIGHER Croft-based recycling charity SAMS has collected a Lancashire Business Environment award for its community contribution to small and medium enterprises.
From its base in the district’s Energyzone, SAMS collects, displays and offers a huge assortment of recycled goods.
With the help of donations from public and private organisations, SAMS places the spotlight on recycling, encouraging environmental awareness within the local business community.
From fabrics and ribbon to cardboard cones and zips, SAMS has it all under one roof, creating a unique environment for the community to engage in.
The award ceremony, which was held at Ewood Park, honoured SAMS for its waste management work with around 118 firms in Blackburn and the surrounding areas.
Joanne Mason, SAMS supervisor, said: “The award is testament to the hard work of all our staff and volunteers who strive to improve our service.”
