A DAY nursery has been praised for its ‘good’ level of provision.
Toppers Day Nursery in Henry Street, Rishton, was said by Ofsted inspectors to provide children with high quality learning experiences.
The nursery, which previously had a good rating, was said to offer interesting outdoor and indoor play. Ofsted inspector Linda Shore said: “Children are supported well by staff, who ignite their curiosity and interests through high quality interactions.
“The outdoor provision is very good, with children benefiting from a wide range of experiences across all areas of learning. Provision is not yet outstanding because layout of rooms and space dedicated to the care of babies was not said to allow them to relax and play quietly.
“Children are happy and busily involved in purposeful activities.
“They are keen learners, who are actively involved in exploring and investigating through play.
“Children are developing skills for the future as staff are adept at integrating letters, numbers and sounds into play.
“They enjoy listening to stories outdoors, which fosters a continued love of reading.
“Staff make outdoor play stimulating and enjoyable for children, who access all areas of learning, including puzzles, a quiet reading den and creative areas for drawing, writing and artwork.”
