THREE people have been arrested on suspicion of supplying heroin following a raid in Bacup.

Officers entered and searched the house in Britannia Avenue and seized a quantity of what was believed to be heroin.

Two local women aged 35 and 38 and a local man aged 38 were arrested following the raid on Thursday.

All three have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Inspector Dave Shepherd from Bacup Police Station said: "This operation was part of a continued commitment to tackling the issue of Class A drugs and related criminality in the Valley.

"I hope this positive police action will reassure the public that we are taking their concerns seriously and taking firm action."
