A NELSON health worker is all smiles after winning the Lancashire Priory Nursing Award for work undertaken at the University of Central Lancashire.
Karen Walker, 29, from Vernon Street, received the award for demonstrating outstanding understanding of professional issues in the final module of her pre-registration nursing course.
It involved a case study highlighting and analysing her individual progress throughout the duration of the three-year course.
Karen has worked in the mental health profession since her early 20s at Burnley General Hospital and will use her qualification and award to continue working with the community.
