EAST Lancashire’s Strictly Come Dancing star Natalie Gumede will be aiming to wow the judges with her jive this weekend. The competition favourite, from Colne, has revealed that the rehearsals with partner Artem Chigvintsev have been getting her down this week. The pair landed the first perfect 10 scores of the series from judges Darcey Bussell and Bruno Tonioli last week. But the award-winning former Coronation Street star is finding this week’s dance tougher. In her blog for Yahoo she said: “I left the rehearsal studio completely deflated as we ended the day way behind the level we would normally be at by now. “After last week's amazing scores, however, Artem is feeling the pressure of having set the bar so high for me and is equally tired. “As contestants on Strictly, we rely so heavily on our dance partners for guidance, relentless support, to help cover our mistakes and to build our confidence. “We forget that although they are professionals - and the very best in their field - they are human too. “They get equally nervous performing on Saturday night, sometimes more so because normally when dancing they would have another professional as their partner, not a quivering wreck of a liability.”
