THE state of Burnley Council’s finances halfway through the financial year will be discussed next week.
Monitoring reports on the council’s revenue and capital programme will go before councillors on Tuesday (November 12).
Councillor Mark Townsend, executive member for resources and performance management, said: “Regular monitoring of our finances help us to effectively manage the council’s budget.
“This is always important, but especially so as the money we get from Government is being drastically cut and we have to make some extremely difficult decisions about maintaining services in the future.
“The council will further consider the trends emerging from our monitoring when formulating next year’s budget.”
