PLANS for a new state-of-the-art mountain biking venue in Bacup have been submitted to the council.
Proposals by Rawtenstall company Ride On for the trail head centre near Futures Park in Newchurch Road have been handed to Rossendale Council.
The current bike tracks at Lee and Cragg quarries attract between 30,000 and 40,000 visitors per year but Ride On’s owner Craig Robertson thinks it could attract more than 250,000 when established.
The new centre, which is expected to cost up to £400,000, will feature a shop, cafe, classrooms, training rooms and washing facilities.
