A CRAFT group has made over 200 knitted poppies to help the Royal British Legion.
The Crafty Clickers group, at the ACE Centre, in Nelson, have produced at total of 220 knitted and crocheted creations – which have been snapped up very quickly by the public.
Beverly McKiernan, group co-ordinator and operations manager at the ACE Centre, said: “I came up with an idea to ask local crafters to get involved in a charity project.
“They came up with numerous options, but when I spoke to our contact at the local branch of the Royal British Legion, they suggested the knitted poppies.
“The response to these little works of art has been amazing and we have received a huge thank you from our friends at the Royal British Legion.
“May I add my thanks to each and every person who has supported this project by making – or indeed buying – our poppies.
It has been a labour of love and all our Crafty Clickers can be very proud of their achievement.”
There are still a handful of knitted and crocheted poppies available from the ACE Centre in Cross Street, Nelson.
