A BLACKBURN book shop that helps unemployed people get back into work is on the move.

Rebound Books is moving from its current Eanam Street premises to a new store in Town Hall Street.

The shop, which is currently based at the former Veteran Pub, is run by the Bootstrap charity.

It proves four-week placements in the shop for people who are out of work and also offers advice and guidance for finding a job.

The shop opened its doors in February 2012 and has been closed for a month since the decision was made to move locations.

Bosses hope to open the new store in a few weeks.

Business manager Graham Jones said: “This is a positive move for the book store because we will be right next to the library.

“It’s a much better location for us and we hope that it will increase the footfall that we currently get.

“It’s a very important project for us and by moving the store I hope it will attract more interest.

“We have a lot of books to go on the shelves at the moment but we are always looking for more.

“There are hundreds of people who have already expressed an interest in becoming a trainee at the new store.”

The bookshop sells a wide range of literature and any profit that is made is invested straight back into the charity.

The shop provides work experience in a retail environment for people who are out of work but who want to find regular employment again.

Mr Jones said: “We hope to open the new store by at least December in time for the Christmas rush.

“It’s an exciting move for us and I hope it will provide positive results.”
