MORE than 160 people went to a free health event run by Blackburn with Darwen Council’s health and wellbeing board.
HealthTalk took place in the Windsor Suite at King George’s Hall, Blakey Moor, and featured a marketplace with a wide range of stalls in themed zones relating to the board’s five priority areas.
Stalls and activities on the day included free sport taster sessions, fitness taster classes, the chance to speak to health experts and the chance to try the latest health gadgets.
Council leader and chairwoman of the board Coun Kate Hollern said: “I am delighted HealthTalk was such a success and many residents and members of the public came to take part in the engagement session and see all of the stalls and interactive exhibitions.
“There are lots of things we can do together to keep people healthy and help those who are unwell to get their health back and this event showcased and highlighted how people can access those services.”
