EAST Lancashire hospital staff and services have been honoured as NHS heroes.
Ten members of staff from the East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust received the national award which celebrates extraordinary work.
Nominations were invited from patients, friends, families, work colleagues and professional peers, and both clinical and non-clinical staff were eligible.
Among the award winners are Judith Salaman, consultant surgeon at Royal Blackburn Hospital and Sue Henry, infant feeding coordinator at the Lancashire women and newborn centre at Burnley General Hospital.
Also included were Royal Blackburn Hospital staff Anna Caffrey, Denise Ruddy and Karl Rakshi.
Lynne Smith, Elizabeth Martindale and Rachel Magee-Thorpe were also included from Burnley General Hospital.
Christine Marden, who works across East Lancashire and Sally Maguire, who works at Reedley Hall in Burnley picked up the award alongside Stepping Stones Development Therapy Unit staff in Haslingden and the EBME department at Burnley General Hospital.
Mark Brearley, chief executive at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, said: "It gives me enormous pride to celebrate our NHS Heroes.
“It is a testament to the commitment and hard work of all staff at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust that so many of our staff and services have had their hard work recognised with these awards.
