FOLLOWING the murders in Ipswich, Lancashire Drug Action Team wants to help street sex workers and encourage them not to put themselves at unnecessary risk.
Steve Stebbings from Lancashire Drug Action Team stressed the need for awareness in relation to drugs and the role they play in the lives of so many sex workers in the region.
One of the main lines of enquiry in relation to the Suffolk murders is that the women are believed to have had a high dependency on grade drugs and the killer may have exploited this in some way.
Mr Stebbings said: "The risks to health and personal safety for street sex workers gives clear cause for concern. I would encourage anyone involved in this type of activity if they have problems with drugs to contact local treatment services and take that first step to getting their life back on track."
