AN East Lancashire charity is asking for people who run community welfare projects to bid for funding – in a unique way.
Muslim Global Relief are running a scheme called the People’s Purse, and bids for funding need to be made through either Facebook or Twitter.
Tweet @MGR2009 using the #ThePeoplesPurse hashtag, or post on the Facebook timeline of www.facebook.com/muslimglobalrelief.
Muhammad Bashir, finance manager for the charity, said: “Simply tell us your ideas and the location where you think this money would be best spent, along with your reason.
“It really is that simple. We will then manage all the respective contributions and ensure that everyone’s idea is taken on board.”
The deadline for ideas is 3pm on Wednesday, November 20. The charity will choose the top five ideas and put it to a public vote, with one scheme winning funding of £1,000.
